FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

If your question is not here, the fit call is the fastest way to get a straight answer.

Working with Prox

Prox fixes the commercial side of product: what it costs, what it should sell for, who makes it, how many you should buy, and what to do with what did not sell. Prox does not design, manufacture, or market.

Every engagement is led by a senior specialist and delivered directly, not handed to a junior. Prox deliberately caps the number of active clients so that quality and attention hold, and will tell you plainly when a piece of work is not worth doing.

A 20-minute fit call, then a written scope with a fixed price. Nothing starts until you approve the scope.

The Margin Check is done inside a week. The First Run Sprint runs four weeks. A Supplier Search runs four to six weeks. The Category Rebuild runs six to eight weeks.

Yes, mainly New Zealand, and occasionally further. Pricing is the same and all fees are quoted in AUD.

Money

Because a price tells you faster than a sales call whether we should be working together. Only five of the thirteen consultancies reviewed in this market publish anything at all.

Yes. Every figure on this site is in Australian dollars and includes GST.

No, never. Prox is paid only by the client. No commission on FOB, no markup on quotes, no referral fees from factories, freight forwarders or software vendors.

Sessions are paid in full before the session. Projects are 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance, with a three-month minimum.

Reschedule free with more than 48 hours' notice. Inside 48 hours, the session is treated as delivered.

Sourcing

Not as a list, and not for free. Introductions happen inside a Supplier Search, matched to your product, and the contacts become yours permanently once introduced.

Often, yes, and usually by changing the specification rather than by arguing. Fabric weight, trim choice, construction and order structure move price more reliably than pressure does.

Video walk-throughs are standard. In-person visits are arranged by agreement, with travel billed at cost and agreed in writing before booking.

Prox checks audit and certification status as part of qualification and will tell you what is missing. Prox does not issue audits and does not certify factories.

Fit

If you have not decided what the product is, yes. If you have a product and a budget, this is exactly the right time.

If your season's order is under about AUD $20,000, start with the calculator and the Margin Check. Prox will tell you honestly if a bigger engagement will not pay for itself.

The Margin Check at AUD $690 is the shortest paid engagement, and it includes a review before and a written plan after. There is no hourly rate below it.

Say so within seven days of delivery and Prox will either redo the piece of work or refund the fee for that piece. That offer applies to the Margin Check and the First Run Sprint.
